⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Marble Hall Murders is a rare gem. It’s a third installment in a series that not only holds its own, but might actually be my favorite so far. Susan Ryeland, having left behind her life in Greece, returns to England and begins a new chapter as a freelance book editor. She’s soon pulled back into the world of Atticus Pünd when a new author is commissioned to continue the series following Alan Conway’s death in Magpie Murders. Susan is brought on board to guide the project.
But things quickly unravel. The new writer takes a page out of Conway’s playbook—using the novel to take thinly veiled jabs at his family and acquaintances. Even more shockingly, he uses the manuscript to expose the long-unsolved murder of his own grandmother, a renowned author.
Having recently watched Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders on @masterpiecepbs, I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for the Atticus Pünd character, thanks in large part to Tim McMullan’s portrayal—he brings an irresistible charm to the role. Hearing McMullan narrate alongside the ever-brilliant Lesley Manville, who reprises her role as Susan Ryeland, makes this audiobook an absolute standout. Their voices bring the characters and atmosphere vividly to life—an inspired casting choice that enhances the entire experience. Can’t wait to watch the adaptation!
I used my own @audible credit for this one. It was well worth it 🥰
